We all know that employee recognition is key to the success of any business or organization. However, there seems to be a lot of room for improvement, particularly now during these challenging times. With many businesses and their staff, having to conduct their businesses differently due to the pandemic, the importance of how and how often you recognize your people could be detrimental to maintaining the positive culture you want to achieve.

On top of all the everyday challenges, employee recognition and engaging your team has just become harder with many businesses choosing the adoption of working from home to keep people safe. How your business chooses to respond during this period of remote work, will not only help you with your current employees, it will help you attract and retain high quality candidates in the future too. Now more than ever is a great time to look at your employee engagement strategy.

Here are four quick strategies I have helped implement with my coaching clients at this time. See how you can tweak some of them to fit your situation.

  1. Enable your team to provide peer to peer feedback, publicly and often as possible.

Studies have shown that peer to peer feedback can have up to 36% more positive impact than manager praise alone. Today, may people are missing that human connection. Looking at ways that can allow your teams and people to shout out  with a “that a boy”, about great work being done remotely, will help your people stay connected and to know their hard work at this time matters.

  1. Reward the continued hard work of your people, since the lock down, with token gestures.

Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption when you are a new driver and under the age of 20, the acne can female cialis be very intense, with the possibility of pock marking which can be permanent. Nevertheless, the symptoms of this dysfunction are quite non-specific and also subtle, so patients may not realize that generic viagra online https://unica-web.com/archive/cvjanwatterson.pdf they are possibly noticed as staying eccentric rather then acquiring a producemental dysfunction. It’s not easy to adjust to working from home, especially for those also balancing child care. I have always been a big fan of using gift cards as a reward to staff. It is also a great way to invest in your local community at the same time. Make sure you give your people choices so the gift cards become more useful to them. Not everyone drinks Starbucks coffee.

  1. Say thank you face to face and be deliberate.

How often do we see a rushed thank you at the end of Zoom meeting or working week? It can make it seem like a bit of an afterthought. Contact a team member via a video call and say thank you. Make the call specifically about thanking them. Be sure to not add any other agenda items, so it’s clear that thanking them was your sole purpose.

  1. Be transparent and communicate regularly.

For example, share proposed plans and ask for their opinion or help on how you will safely manage their re-entry to the office or customer experience at the business. Staff will appreciate being kept in the loop, and involved, while inspiring their confidence that there is sincere consideration being given to everyone’s safety and welfare.

As you can see, these are just a few ways you can recognize your staff. Take the time to brainstorm ideas with your team and I am sure you will come up with many more. The most important thing to remember is among all the other challenges we face at this time, the recognition of our people and their efforts have to be a priority too. Keep the Magic alive!
