Imagine if you could have an abundance of customers for life! What would that do for your business? Would that increase profits and help put more money into your business account? ABSOLUTELY! Many businesses, just like yours, spend too much time and money chasing strangers and new customers rather than taking care of the customers they already have who know you, like you and have spent lots of money in your business.
What about your business? Are you struggling to get repeat customers or wish you had more referrals? I get it. When I work with my coaching clients, I help them focus on three strategies so that they can build customer loyalty for life and increase referrals. The bottom line, to make it easier to make more money.

Here are the three successful strategies to have customers for life:
- Customer Service Doesn’t Create Growth – Customer Loyalty and Retention Does. I’ve told many people through my keynotes and training that the problem isn’t customer service. That’s the solution. The problem is customer loyalty and retention. To be successful in business you need new customers, getting existing customers to return, and getting those who return to buy more. When you create a memorable, “Magical” Customer Experience, customers come back and spend more money. Love your existing customers, and watch your business grow. The experience you deliver will either drive customers away or draw them back. Consistently deliver the experience customers want and expect, and you can turn a one-time customer into a repeat customer, and eventually a loyal customer.
- . Stop Chasing New Customers. Spend More Money On Providing Value to Your Existing Customers Instead Most businesses focus a large majority of their marketing budget on new customer acquisition. While getting new customers is important, try spending more marketing dollars on obtaining customer retention. That might be on special thank you gifts, loyalty rewards, or by finding ways for your employees to knock the socks off your existing customers. I love teaching employees how to do that.
- Clarity Creates Alignment. Alignment Accelerates Sales. Every employee must be aligned with the customer experience you want for your business. Are all of your employees onboard? Do they know what is acceptable and what is not? Have you defined the behaviors that you want them to act out? In order to align your employees to create a better customer experience, you have to hire the right people on the front line, train them properly, and empower them to deliver the experience you want customers to have. Without accountability and clarity, employees will not be aligned to deliver the experience you want.
Loyalty is a feeling. You can’t force a customer to be loyal. Loyalty is an emotion that is earned over time. Retention, however, is something you can manage. You can make it possible through leadership and employee training and by creating the essential behaviors to be put into place to deliver a consistent experience that your customer love, remember and tell others. Think of customer experience as a strategy that creates the opportunity for loyalty. Get that right, and over time, customers will reward you with loyalty. Now that is “MAGICAL”!
